Seven Olympiads created paper airplanes and jumping frogs, each with guidance from the Great Skibidi Weega. Competition was fierce, but a winner emerged!

Declarations are Open!

It’s that time again to let it be known if you’re interested in leading our park community for the next six months. Declarations will close on August 16, with the Greenwood Keep winter reign coronation scheduled for September 27. To declare for Monarch, Regent, or Champion, you must meet the following:

• 18+ years old
• A member in good standing (MIGS) of Greenwood Keep
• Pass both the Reeve and Corpora tests (Now available in the Ork!)
• Include a PDF version of your reign plan with your declaration on Discord

Details about the requirements to run, what to include in a reign plan, and responsibilities for each position can be found in the Northern Lights Corpora, section 2.0 Monarchy Offices of the Kingdom. Additionally, you are welcome to ask any of our current or former monarchy to share their experiences and discuss the roles with you. If you’re interested in volunteering but unsure where to get started, you can also shadow a position or be appointed into non-officer roles. Ask your monarchy team where you can help!

Dues are $12/six months, $24/year and you can also donate to the land coffers this way. When using PayPal, please be sure to use the “friends and family” method as PayPal will take tax out of the transaction if used as a business transaction. Save the Date!

August 2 – College of Mars

Become a better battlegamer! This event is focused on helping anyone and everyone improve with two waves of classes and games to try out your new skills. The first classes will begin at 12:30 and the second wave will begin at 2:00.

August 9 – Beach Day

Meet up at the Martin Way Park & Ride at 10:30am to convoy out to Ocean Shores, arriving at Lighthouse Suites Inn around noon. Once we rally at the Inn we’ll roll out to the beach together for fun and games in the sand and sun. Swimwear and sunscreen encouraged. Check the Ork event for updates and RSVP!

August 23 – Warskill and Crown Laureate

Warskills will be run by Bun (Just-Bun) according to Corpora Appendix D. If you’re interested in helping Reeve, please contact GMR Wicker Basket.

Crown Laureate will be run by Heron per Appendix C, with the addition of team entries and haikus as extra distinct categories. Please reach out to her if you’d like to help judge.

August 30 – Celtic Dance Music

Master Dragon, Count Aidan will be hosting a class on Celtic dance music, covering single jigs, double jigs, and reels. Sheet music will be provided for those that would like to bring their own instrument and follow along. Examples will include O’Keefe’s Slide, Swallowtail Jig, and Drowsy Maggie.

We meet on Sundays at Wonderwood Park in Lacey from noon until we’re tired!

Do you want more practice, but not available at the times above? Host your own! To get credit, you must give 3+ days notice, post about the fighter practice in 2+ locations (must include GWK discord), and be attended by at least 1 person that doesn’t reside in your home.
